A wastewater-treatment technology leader opens its Rs 667.53 crore mainboard issue on October 27 — C-Tech SBR technology with 80%+ market share, a Rs 1,570+ crore order book, 90%+ repeat orders and a DuPont tie-up, but a seasonal business and a part-OFS structure.
SFC Environmental Technologies Ltd (SETL) offers technologies and engineering solutions in wastewater treatment (WWT), wastewater recycling & reuse (WRR) and solid waste treatment (SWT) — providing design, technology, manufacturing, supply and installation/commissioning supervision for treating wastewater. Its proprietary technology is C-Tech, an advanced sequencing batch reactor (SBR) method for treating sewage and effluents.
With 728 installations commissioned (as of July 31, 2026), SETL holds over 80% market share in SBR technology in India — a key wastewater-treatment method — and its technologies treat 17,511 MLD of wastewater.
It also offers turbo blowers, fibre disc filters and solar sludge drying systems, and has an exclusive supply agreement with DuPont (since August 2024) for membrane aerated biofilm reactor technology and WRR components (UF membranes, CCRO, MBR modules).
It has expanded into tertiary treatment (WRR) — order book Rs 561.07 crore as of August 31, 2026 — and, via subsidiary HWTPL, into compressed biogas (CBG) plants (orders from a government oil company at Tinsukia, Assam and Bhubaneswar, Odisha). “C-TECH” is trademarked in the EU and Vietnam.
Its revenue is 90%+ repeat orders, and its order book stood at Rs 1,570+ crore as of June 30, 2026. It had 264 employees as of August 31, 2026. Note: the business is seasonal — 60%+ of business comes in the second half per historical trends, so Q1 figures don’t reflect the full-year picture.

(The headline FY27-annualised P/E of ~541x is distorted by the business seasonality — Q1 is a weak quarter — so the FY26 multiple is the meaningful reference.)
Listed peers Thermax, Praj and Ion Exchange trade at P/Es of ~67x, ~91x and ~45x. Average EPS was Rs 15.93 and average RoNW 23.82% over three fiscals.
GMP Watch
The SFC Environmental IPO GMP has been modest, ranging ₹20–32, and stood at around Rs 20–30 (~6–9%) on opening day — implying an estimated listing near Rs 350–358 over the Rs 330 upper band. GMP is unofficial, unregulated and unendorsed, and can move before listing.
Financial Performance
| Particulars (Rs cr) | FY24 | FY25 | FY26 | Q1-FY27 |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Total Income | 676.74 | 726.93 | 821.27 | 137.90 |
| Net Profit (PAT) | 144.17 | 152.01 | 160.21 | 1.48 |
| PAT Margin (%) | 21.93 | 21.78 | 19.94 | 1.11 |
| RoCE (%) | 28.56 | 29.29 | 22.21 | 0.72 |
Total income grew steadily from Rs 676.74 crore (FY24) to Rs 821.27 crore (FY26), with PAT rising from Rs 144.17 crore to Rs 160.21 crore. Margins are strong (~20–22% PAT, ~22–29% RoCE) for the WWT business. The weak Q1-FY27 (PAT Rs 1.48 crore) reflects the business seasonality — not a deterioration — as 60%+ of implementation happens in H2.
Conclusion
SFC Environmental Technologies brings a market-leading wastewater-treatment business to the mainboard — C-Tech SBR technology with 80%+ market share, 728 installations, a DuPont tie-up, expansion into WRR and CBG, a Rs 1,570+ crore order book, 90%+ repeat orders, strong margins and a healthy dividend record, riding India’s water-conservation and ESG tailwind.
